  • Book Runner

Book Runner is an online retail platform that encourages the reevaluation and renewed appreciation of secondhand books. It speaks to the cultural cachet of bookselling, linking the digital world with the nostalgia that Book Runner’s customer base associates with books and bookstores. With a wide range of fiction, non-fiction, rare and out-of-print titles to choose from, Book Runner shines a light on long-forgotten books that would otherwise go straight from the bottom shelf to the rubbish dump.
Having reached growth capacity, moving the business forward required a dynamic website integrated with Instagram to make handling fulfillments, payments and complaints easier. The website features a modular structure with colour pops and a friendly mascot created by Steve Gavan. The design (led by Callen Neasmith) addresses navigation challenges with unique search functions and accessible categories, allowing users to find products quickly and efficiently. To accompany the website, I designed a comprehensive brand guide and a set of 34 illustrations based on the original mascot.
All previous work for Book Runner was designed by Steve Gavan, specifically a logo suite (which was updated by Studio TunTun) and brand collateral (including some illustrations and a business card, bookmark and tote bag).
