  • 20,000 Return

20,000 Return documents Phoebe Kelly’s 2023 road trip across the Northern Territory and Western Australia. The self-published zine considers the changing qualities of light and textures as she and artist Jess Merlo travelled from state to state, and the various ways they spent their time while removed from their regular lives. It acts as an exercise in paying attention and close looking, making images as a way of showing appreciation for awe-inspiring landscapes as well as smaller, modest moments.
In making this project, we would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the traditional custodians of the many lands Phoebe had the privilege to learn about, visit and create on during her journey.

40 pages, 260 x 370mm, 60gsm newsprint.
